Policies on Ethics

The Journal of Technology Research (JTR) believes in maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. Members of the Editorial Board make every effort to ensure that published articles follow the best available research standards. The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing misconduct in publishing by all possible measures.

The journal's responsibility is to publish original works of scientific value according to the highest academic standards. The ethical values that support this objective include:

  • Honesty and originality from authors.
  • Fair and equitable treatment of researchers.
  • Impartiality and objectivity from editors.
  • Confidentiality throughout the peer-review process.

The journal also follows best practices regarding ethical issues, corrections, and retractions when necessary.

Conflict of Interest (COI)

All corresponding authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest related to the submitted research.

To ensure best practice in drafting such declarations, authors are required to complete the Conflict of Interest form. This form generates a COI statement based on the author's responses, which will be included in the final published article.

Plagiarism

The Journal of Technology Research uses Plagiarism Checker X software to ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts.

  • The maximum allowed similarity index is 25%.
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned for revision or rejected.
  • All sources must be properly cited.
  • Significant plagiarism may lead to rejection during the initial screening stage.
  • Manuscripts may be rechecked if substantial revisions occur during peer review.

Authorship

The Journal of Technology Research discourages submissions involving guest or ghost authors.

Each author must meet the following criteria:

  1. Substantial contribution to the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation.
  2. Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically.
  3. Final approval of the version to be published.
  4. Accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

The corresponding author is responsible for submitting the manuscript and managing communication during the review and publication process.

Editorial Independence and Publication Restriction

To maintain transparency and editorial independence, members of the Editorial Board and Executive Office are not permitted to publish research articles in the Journal of Technology Research during their term of service.

  • This restriction applies to primary authors, co-authors, and corresponding authors.
  • Submissions may only be considered after their official term has ended.
  • All submissions will undergo the standard peer-review process.

Cases of Misconduct

Although the Journal of Technology Research is not currently a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), it follows the COPE Code of Conduct.

COPE Flowcharts are used to guide the Editorial Board in handling suspected misconduct cases.

  • Data fabrication.
  • Data manipulation.
  • Authorship disputes.
  • Other breaches of publication ethics.

If misconduct is confirmed in a published article, the journal may issue a retraction when necessary.
